INCUS | NOVA: Is it fit for injury prevention?

There is a high prevalence of running related injuries (RRI’s) in the global running population. Therefore, it is important to consider the mechanisms that relate to the risk of RRI’s. Some research suggests that higher peak acceleration or peak force during the landing phase of the running gait is related to a greater risk of RRI’s.

This white paper compares peak acceleration data from the INCUS|NOVA to the ‘gold standard’ force data from force plates to ensure that the INCUS|NOVA has the means to detect these peak accelerations accurately. The identification of these peaks accurately could then be used to identify runners’ risk of developing RRI’s.
